DIGITAL LITERACY

K.DL.4.1: Students will demonstrate beginner-level keyboarding skills by locating letter and number keys.
Students will be instructed to click a certain key on a keyboard. After students are more comfortable locating keys, they will race to see which student can find the correct key first.
DATA & ANALYSIS

Students will be given different bar graphs, pie charts, etc. & be asked questions about the graphs (i.e. "Who exercises the most out of these four people?")
NETWORKS & THE INTERNET

K.NI.1.1: Students will be able to recognize that people can communicate with others by using connected computing devices.
Students will be paired up with a "pen pal" in their class & be instructed on how to record videos of themselves talking about various subjects given by the instructor and send the videos to their "pen pals" using different forms of internet communication platforms.
IMPACT OF COMPUTING

K.IC.1.2: Students will be able to recognize how computing devices have changed people's lives by discovering how certain tasks can be completed with or without a computing device.
Students will be given different tasks & be asked to give one way they can complete that task without technology & one way they can complete it with technology. (i.e. "How could you ask Grandma how her day was?" "Write her a letter or call her.")
COMPUTING SYSTEMS

K.CS.1.1: Students will demonstrate understanding of different forms of technology and be able to identify traditional and non-traditional computing devices.
Students will see images on the screen of different computing & non-computing devices & hold up a green card if it is a type of computer or a red card if it is not a type of computer.
