Ancient China
Location I know this because " In most Chinese homes, three generations of the same family lived under one roof". Families followed very strict codes which reflected the way their house was shaped. Usually the grandfather, lived with his wife and children at the main building, with side rooms with other close relatives.(Cotterell 42-43)
Writing : The author wrote that a tortoise shell was burned and cracked to answer important questions from the people from the people to their ancestors. They believed that the answers were written on the bones after the fire. During this time, the Shang Kings used the different bones to talk to their ancestors.(Cotterell 11)
Art: On page 16 it says that one of the first Emperor's tomb is guarded by terracotta worriers. He was buried because the people believed that they would help him in the after life. There are about 8000 of these warriors and they all have different faces.(Cotterell 16)
Architecture/Technology: In the text it said that paper and printing were the most important Chinese inventions. The paper was made in about 105 A.D. and it was originally made from silk rags, Bamboo, hemp and mulberry leaves.Printing was also very important and it started around with the first wood block and then they started to use stone horn,bronze or even ceramics.(Cotterell 24)
Government: An example of the Chinese government is the Qin dynasty. This dynasty was ruled by Qin Shi Huangdi. Once he died he was buried with a army of 8000 terracotta warriors. (Cotterell 16)
Trade/Commerce: The graphic says that the Silk Road started in the Mongol dynasty.These trade routes ran through Northern China and Asia. The chinese mostly exported luxury things. For example they traded silk,spices,teas and many other items. (Cotterell 58)
Religion: An example is that on page 26 it says that the beliefs were split into three differences. These beliefs were Confucianism,Daoism and Buddhism. Confucius was one of the best rulers who believed that everything would either happen for a reason and that you need to treat people the way you wanted to be treated.(Cotterell 26)
