Elections
Voting is by single transferable vote
A candidate requires a specified number of first preference votes to win.
For independents, there should be 10 proposers,
The formula simply is [(Number of MLAs X 100) / (Vacancies + 1)] + 1.
Candidates have to be proposed by at least 10 members of the Assembly or 10% of the party’s strength
Each first choice vote has a value of 100 in the first round.
