Tailor lessons, assessments, and teaching strategies to meet their needs.
Examples
- Include a variety of activities.
- Include visuals in your presentation.
- Include audios/videos.
- Include hands-on activity, when applicable.
- Incorporate peer help and class discussions in your class.

*Peer help could be useful for ELL students.
- Give access to students to online translation and text-to-speech apps.
- Allow movement in class for students who need it.
- Give frequent mental breaks in class.
- Use fonts that support dyslexic students.
- Provide students with different seating options/areas in class.
Foster a growth mindset in class.
- Encourage students to embrace mistakes as part of the learning process.
- Encourage raising their hands.
- Guide them to the correct answer instead of just saying "wrong answer! Next."
- Ensure that there is mutual respect in class.

Avoid:
- Being the center of the class. Instead, have your class student-centered.
- Lengthy lectures. Instead, initiate opened ended questions and class discussions to have your students engaged.
- Using ONLY textbooks. Instead, use other different resources that would support/enhance the concept.
- Always standing next to the board. Instead, move around the class, checking on students' work and provide help when needed.
- Using monotone voice. Instead, vary your pitch and tempo, & increase and decrease the volume to get students' attention.
