EMBRYOLOGY 2
Mesonephric
-
-
Late in 4th week , develops in cranio-caudal direction
-
Mesonephric ducts become efferent ductules of testes(transport sperm) in males , disappear in females
Nephrons formed , hence this kidney is functional>primitive glomerulus & tubular system>>which drains into Mesonephric/Wollifian duct
Metanephric
-
Metanephric diverticulum(outpouching before it enters cloaca) caleed URETERIC BUD pushing into metaphrogenic blastema
-
Uro-rectal Septum separates the cloaca into anterior urogenital sinus & posterior opening up into anus
-
Ureteric duct develops into ureter, renal pelvis, calyces & entire Collecting system
Pronephros
Replaced by the next kidney(mesonephros)>takes over the pronephric duct>able to transport urine down to the primitive developing bladder=Becomes Mesonephric duct
-
Early kidney , non-functional & laid in the cervical region(neck)
4TH WEEK ONLY , transient & vestigial
All these stages happen in urogenital ridge>Medially>GONAD , Laterally>Developing kidneys
