COVID-19 has widened the learning gap among students. How can it be reduced?
Introduction
We are all aware about how COVID-19 has forced us to create great changes to our day to day life, including our education. By transitioning to distance learning instead of being in the normal classrooms as well as making it difficult to proceed with group collaboration unlike before.
Games
Games such as
charades, hangman, skribbl, jackbox etc
are fun games that can be quite engaging for students who might find it fun and interesting to do during class
Tips
It is well know that distance learning is safer than being at class during the pandemic, but most students seem to lack behind or lose motivation when it comes to learning at home. It may be hard but there a many ways to make it seem normal
Doing work on the notebook rather than on the devices
Set time to study after the lesson if you did not understand or need more practice
Participate more in group work or collaboration work
Being active and attentive in class is always necessary and it is helpful
Participating in online games that teachers have provded (e.g kahoot, quizizz, BBC, quizlet etc.

Remember
Most students find trouble when it comes to distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic so always remember to check up on them and make sure they are on the right track instead of throwing all the work at them, but
Students should know that academics is a major thing and that trying/participating does not hurt anyone
