Patient history of angina (pain persists 3-5 minutes)
Pain in chest
Patient is deteriorating
Pain does not subside
Re-evaluate diagnosis as likely AMI
Vital signs are unstable
PABCD
Airway and breathing: administer oxygen
Circulation: monitor pulse. Proceed with CPR if necessary
Position: upright/semi-reclining
Emergency care: administer nitroglycerin sublingual 0.4 mg
Patient is recovering
Pain subsides
Vital signs remain stable
