-
Eg - Granite, Basalt, Obsidian and Pumice
Metamorphic Rocks
When rocks are buried in the earth and when pressure and heat are applied, the properties of the rock change and metamorphic rocks form.
Eg - sandstone, limestone, and shale
Sedimentary Rocks
Sediments that are eroded and carried away get buried in layers and the pressure of the layers above force them and if bits of water are collected in between layers, they combine together and form sedimentary rocks.

Eg - Sulfur, Mica, limestone and Nitrate
Power minerals
These minerals are used for providing us with energy and are used as fuel resources.
Eg - Coal, thorium, Natural Gas and petroleum
-
In the past, Mined materials and minerals were used to make weapons and household items.
