Korea
The UN established the 38th Parallel to divide North and South Korea; N. Korea was under the supervision of the USSR while S. Korea was under the US supervision
May fall under the Cold War where the US and the USSR were competing about which government system is the best
Korea fell into a Civil War because the people disagreed with ideas; some people wanted to have the right to vote and be able to decide their future for themselves
War by proxy; other forces were used to fight each other; the US sent troops to fight with the Koreans
The Cold War
The US vs. The USSR competing to promote their form of government and economic system Asia
Red Fear and the "domino effect" theory where the US thought that the countries in Asia are going to become Communists one by one as Communism spreads in the continent
Japan
Drastic changes in the system of the government; became a parliament
emperor was still considered as a head of state, but just doesn't have any power

Government presents the people's voices and needs more; changed the cabinet members of the House of Peers and became more inclusive to people from other social statuses

China
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Nationalists were fighting over control over China
(Chinese Civil War)
The Soviet Union got involved when it took over Manchuria; provided the CCP access to Japanese arm depots
Soviets helped the CCP stop the Nationalist troops from entering some of the key cities in Manchuria.
the CCP got its strength from rural areas which are areas where the Japanese did not occupy and maintained their support with the Japanese.
Nationalists were assisted by the Americans vs. CCP was assisted by the USSR
The Nationalists were blamed for going to war with the US; the blame was done through Communist propaganda
