Research Process
Conceptualization- Defining what something means to you. Might not be the true definition.

Descriptive Statistics
Standards of Measurement
Random method is used to assign groups
The assignment of groups is not random and more than 1 group to conduct the measurement
The assignment of groups is not random and only one group is used for measurement. (weakest out of the 3)
Types of Measurement
Nominal- Least precise
Ordinal-More Precise
Interval-Even more precise
Ratio- Most precise
Validity-is the extent to which we measure what is intended to be measured
Reliability-is the extent to which we have consistent measures of a concept. If we did the study again, we’d expect to get the same results.
Precision- Think of bullseyes, if you hit the middle of the bullseye then you have high reliability and high Validity
Look over the data and compile it to show basically what the data is and what it shows
checking or logging the data in, checking the data for accuracy, and entering the data into the computer
Inferential Statistic
Correlates the data with the research questions or the hypothesis you have come up with.
Operationalization- Something expressed in terms used to prove it.
