Writing: In the text it said "Early people who lived as hunters and nomads did not need written records. The sumerians devised the world's first script or writing system". (Steele)
Architecture: On page 24, it said "Ziggurats themselves had small temples or shrines on top, reached by long stairways. A lasting symbol of Ancient Mesopotamia is the Ziggurat. A massive terraced platform made of brick. (Steele)
Location: On page 6. it said that both the Tigris and te Euphrates Rivers flow through the Middle East. Originally, the people that live there didn't have a name for it but the Greeks called it Mesopotamia. (Steele)
Art: On page 26, it said "Mesopotamians were great lovers of poetry, art, and music" the author also wrote on that page "people in towns and villages would have enjoyed informal music, dance, storytelling, sporting events, and games." (Steele)
Government: In the paragraph on page 10 it said "Sumerian kings claimed to rule by the will of gods" and also on that page it said "Sumerian rulers enjoyed great power and fame and their exploits and deeds were remembered for centuries."
Religion: In the text it said that Sumerians worship multiple gods and goddesses. Some of those gods were Enki, Enill, and Inanna and they each possessed their own deity. Found on page 14. (Steele)
