Ancient China
Writing: On page 11, it said oracle bones were used to consult ancestors about important matters by the Shang kings. To make an oracle bone they would use an ox bone or tortoiseshell. They would burn the bone and the cracks were deciphered as the answered to their questions. (Cotterell)
Art: On page 56, the text states that China has always been known for its arts and crafts. In the text it says "In imperial China , luxury goods formed the major export commodities - Chinese bronze, jade, silk, lacquer, and porcelain were prized in Asia and Europe.
Location: On page 42 it says that "In most chinese homes, three generations of the same family lived under one roof. In the text it states that "families followed strict codes of conduct, which were reflected in the layout of their houses."
Trade/Commerce: On page 58 the text states that trade flourished under the Mongol, or Yuan, dynasty. Also in the text it says the mongol emperors ruled china from 1279 to 1368. They permitted merchants to trade freely throughout their last empire.
Architecture/Technology: On page 24 it states that paper and printing were possibly the most important Chinese inventions. In the text it says that "Credit for the successful manufacture of paper is given to Cai Lun, head of the imperial workshops."
Religion: On page 26, the book states that chinese religions were split into three different beliefs. These religions were Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism. Confucianism and Daoism emerged in China during the Warring State period, while Buddhism came from India.
Government: On page 16, the book states that the qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and united the "warring states" under one leader which was Zheng. Also in the text it says "The emmpire got its name from the Qin to become China."

Religion: In the text it said, The aryans came from an area of Central Asia near the Caucasus Mountains, they moved southeast and eventually took over the entire part of the Indus Valley near the year 1500 B.C. They also spoke a language called Sanskrit, which became basis of many modern South Asian language. There are little archaeological evidence showing how india's Aryan people lived.
