Ancient Civilizations
Mesopotamia
Government: The author wrote that the assyrians people had few resources and little land. They conquered other lands and they had expanded under sargon the first who seized power to the assyrians (Steele)
Writing: The graphic showed the early people who lived in Mesopotamia made their own language and system to communicate with others. They used what we call now cuneiform which is when you use a wedge shaped object to make indents in clay (Steele 12)
Location: The author wrote that Mesopotamia was between two great rivers, the Tigris and the Euphrates. Today, the area that used to be Mesopotamia ia a modern-day Iraq (Steele 6)
Architecture: In the text it said ancient mesopotamia people made building and architecture to survive. They specifically made ziggurats which thy thought to be the home of the heaven.

Art: In the text it said that they used to mold clay into simple pots and made a potters wheel which made the idea of pottery. They also used to make mixtures of metals like tin and copper which made trade with metal possible. This trend starting the idea of trading things like loom,wool, and lennon etc. (Steele)
Religion: In the text it said that the Sumerians worshipped gods such as Ninhursag, Nintu, Nammu. The people in Mesopotamia were polytheistic because they believed in more than one god
Ancient Egypt
Government: On page 12, the author states that sometimes the pharaoh just wants to relax at court. Man of the people in high government were there due to their writing skills or money. (Hart)
Location: In the text it said that Desert covers more than 90% of the land. In the text is also said that The Egyptian population depends on its agricultural growth (Hart)

Art: The author states that the earliest picture of loom are was on pottery. The egyptians learned the art of dyeing their clothes different colors and patterns (Hart)
Religion: The author stated The Egyptians worshiped hundreds of gods and goddesses. It also says that many of the gods were recognized by animals such as bamboos or moon.
Architecture: The author wrote that the first pyramid was built in 2650 BCE for King Djoser. After the first pyramid was built many following kings had pyramids the greatest being Pyramid Giza (Hart 20)
Writing: The graphic shows that the Egyptians used their own symbols to write. They had about 700 symbols representing different things. (Hart)
Ancient China
Government: On page 18, the author states the earliest members to the dynasty were recruited from Gazou. Also, he states the 140-87 b.c WU DI examined civil servants, also through this time confucius was formed and picked up. This information shows us that the government has had many different rulers with many different ideas.
Art: On page 56 the author states China has always been known for its arts and crafts. Artists were considered important members of society. Also the author states that in the past they used raw materials to make terracotta statues
Architecture/ Technology: Some of the world's best inventions were made in China. One of today's most famous tourist attractions The Great Wall of China is a historical monument that carries on for thousands of miles. Today China is one of the best countries to get goods.
Religion: In the text it said, Confucius was an amazing leader who believed in kindness and respect. He believed to be a ruler meant to be liked and loved but also use his power appropriately. He made a massive difference in china's religion.
Location: On page 38 the author states the Yangtze River provided a water supply for rice cultivation in the warm southern climate. The text says that the yellow river was the other frat river of china. The yellow River is located in the northern part of china.
Trade/Commerce: The Silk Road was the main way to trade with other countries. They used this thousand mile long road to trade with other countries and they even spread beliefs. This trade system formed part of china.
Writing: On page 11, it said an ox bone or tortoiseshell was scorched over a fire until it cracked. The Shang Kings used the oracle bones to get advice from their ancestral spirits. The answers to their question were shown on the bones with the various cracks. (Cotterell)
Indus Valley
Location: On the website it states "Around 5,000 years ago, a civilization developed along the Indus River alluvial plain (floodplain), in South Asia, due to the large amount of fertile land and proximity to a water source." This tells us when the River was created and how. The indus river has impacted many states and run along many states such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Northwestern Modern day India.(

Writing: In the source it states "One of the most confusing aspects of this ancient civilization is that the writing cannot be deciphered. Over 400 symbols have been uncovered from different locations." Based on this information we know that the history of Indus cannot be explained at this time. In the text it talks about how scholars are trying to decipher but it will take time.(

Architecture/Technology: In the source the author states that the people during this time carried greatly about hygiene, and this shows in their cities. Also the author states they had very advanced civilizations the had advanced dockyards, granaries, warehouses, and protective walls. In the article the author states their cities where very well planed with wide strait streets and large buildings. (

Government: In the text the author wrote "The Aryan civilization had a large impact on modern-day India society. For example, one Aryan influence on modern-day India was the development of the caste system. A caste is a social group in which people are born and they cannot change." Also in the text there is a chart ranking all of the different people who had different power. From this information we know that Indus government had a similar system to many other ancient civilizations such as Ancient China. (
