Vehicle
Chassis
Constraint: We are not able to change mounting points of the rear gearbox. Justification: The frame design utilizes the gearbox mounting architecture for added stiffness.
-
Constraint: We are not able to change the frame
side shock mount on the front suspension. We are capable of changing the rear shock mount. Justification: The frame design expects the load from the front shock in a specific point. The load from the rear shock has flexibility.
-
Constraint: We are not able to change the mounting points of the front gearbox. Justification: The subframe is designed together with the suspension to minimize axle plunge, so the placement of the gearbox power take out is predetermined. Additionally, the subframe is designed for resistance to impact. Additional mounting holes would weaken the structure.
-
Pedals and Steering
Constraint: Front axles must clear steering links. We are not able to change the kinematics of the steering links to accommodate packaging.
-
Constraint: We are not able to change the Rear brake caliper and rotor architecture, but these components will need to be packaged into the drivetrain near the gearbox.
-
Suspension
Wheel Kinematics
Constraint: We are not able to change the suspension wheel kinematics. We are capable of changing the suspension travel bracket by changing the shock mounting. (This does not affect the wheel kinematics)
Drivetrain
Engine
CVT
Constraint: We are not able to change the drivetrain preceding the keyed hole interface in the CVT secondary. Justification: A future team will have ECVT as project, and the engine is SAE required.
Rear Gearbox
Power Transfer To Front
Front Gearbox
Front and Rear Axles
Constraint: We are not able to change anything in the drivetrain beyond and including the splines in the hubs.
