Affirmative statements
Modal verbs can be used in passive statements to state necessary information.
subject + modal verb + be + past participle
Examples
The dentist does have to be good to take out my wisdom tooth.
Patients must be had our dogs because they are a little mischievous.
They should be fined for trespassing with their sheep.
The flours ought to be better with the changes made.
The car tires could be pupped with more air.
The first grade homework can be done by my daughter.
The table could be made by my father.
My daughter might be late for her online class.
They would rather be in our car then the bus.
The modal verb could, can be used in passive statements to communicate possibility.
Negative Statement
subject + modal verb + not + be + past participle
Modal verbs can be used in passive statements to state necessary information in negative form.
Examples
The landlord shouldn't be able to pick the plants in our garden.
The dentist doesn't have to be good to take out my wisdom tooth, he just needs good imaging.
The first grade homework can't be done by my daughter.
Passive statements are used when the carrier of the action wasn't mentioned or has no importance.
