Mesopotamia
Government: Mesopotamia was ruled by kings. The government they used was called a theocracy. (Steele)
Religion: In this text, it said they worshipped multiple gods and goddesses. They thought that stars in the sky symbolized the cows of Sin.(Steele 14)

Architecture(Buildings): The graphic showed the symbol of Ancient Mesopotami is the Ziggurats. Formed part of sacred precints, which where thought to be the earthly dwelling places of the gods.(Steele 24)
Art: In this text it says, they made jewelry, musical instruments, small statues, intricate chairs, weapons, and mosaics. They continued the art of pottery. (Steele)
Location: On page 6, it said the people of Mesopotamian arose between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The land was surrounded by the Fertile Crescent, which was good for farming.(Steele 6)

Ancient China
Government: On page 6 it says: From 221 B.C. to 1912, China was under one single empire. The ancient empire remained untouced by other outsiders because of its vast land. A man named Confucius commanded people to always put family first and it was very effective on China's economic standard. (Cotterell)
Location: On page 18 it said: When early members of the Chinese dynasty started building a big wall across the North Chinese Plain to protect them. It remained untouched by outside influences. Cut of from other places such as West Asia, Europe, and India it took them almost 100 years to find out of civilazations exist. (Cotterell)
Technology/Architeture: On page 22 it said, that some of the greatest inventions in the world came from China. This includes the Water powered blast furnace, which was used to make cast-iron products with a blast. Another invention was the Earthquake Watercock, which was used to tell the emporers wwhen an earthquake happens and where so that they could go help that village.(Cotterell)
Trade/Commerce: On page 58 it said: Trade under the Mongol also known as the Yuan flourished. The Silk Road caused China to permit to freely trade throughout the empire. Chinese traders made a good fortune off of spices and teas and other items. (Cotterell)
Religion: The author states that Confucious believed that the years in the Zhou dynasty were the golden yeats of social harmony. The increasing turmoilgave Confucious the idea to develope a new outlook and the outlook was based on kindness, respect, and strength. The Chinese took up Confucious's religion and beleived that they were a part of a greater family. (Cotterell 12)
Writing: On page 11 it said: Oracle bones are used to consult anscestors about important matters to Shang Kings. To make an oracle bone they would use and Ox bone or a Tortiseshell. They would burn the bone and the cracks were deciphered as the answers to their questions. (Cotterell)
Art; An example of art is Jade, Bronze, silk, and porclenain. In the Shang Dynasty, they combinded how much raw materials people got. The artisians were considered the most important members of society. (Cotterell 56)
