Ancient Egypt
Government: On page 10 it states that, pharaohs were the main leaders for the Egyptians. They were worshiped like they were a god, and respected like that as well. The pharaoh was the most powerful man in egypt.(Hart 10)
Location: On page 8, it said that the Egyptians lived on the banks of the Nile River. The Nile was great for farming because of its rich dark suit.(Hart)
Art: In the text it said that the Egyptians had many talents that came to art. They used a method called granulation to make patterns in the gold necklaces that they made. They used metals like orange- red carnelian, green feldspar, and mauve amethyst. They made many beautiful, unique things.(Hart 56)
Religion: In the text it said, that the Egyptians were polytheistic meaning that they believed in many gods and goddesses. They worshiped such gods as Ra, Nut, and Seth.(Hart)
Architecture: In the text it states that, pyramids were very important to the Egyptians. They took a very long time making them. They were mostly used to keep the tombs for the dead in there.(Hart)
Writing: On page 32 it states that, they had very complicated or unique writing back in Ancient Egyptian times. They used something called Hieroglyphics, they would be able to be seen on monuments,temples, tombs, and religious papyri.(Hart 34)
Mesopotamia
Government: The government of old Mesopotamia was very
known throughout Mesopotamia. In the section of Mighty Rulers, it states that many of the rulers were very legendary. They enjoyed their great power and fame. Their deeds and exploits were known for centuries.(Stele)
Writing: In the section of The story of Writing, it states the used pictures like stars, stream, and bull. They also cuniteform to chart what they were selling or taxes.(Steele)
Location: On page 6, it said that the people of
Mesopotamia arose between the Tigris and
Euphrates Rivers. The land was surrounded by the
Fertile Crescent, which was excellent for farming.

Architecture: On page 24, it states that ziggurats were the main temples of the Mesopotamian people.Ziggurats represented mostly on religion and protection.(Steele)
Religion: In the section of Gods and Goddesses, it states that the Mesopotamian people worshiped many gods and goddesses. They believed that gods were symbols of things in life like the moon, water, underworld, or the sun.(Steele)
Art: Crafts and Technology back then were exquisite and complex. On page 28, it states they invented the potter's wheel at some time before 3500 BCE. Also, they invented sculptures in the walls of ziggurats or temples.
Ancient China
Government: According to the text, China was the oldest continuous civilization. In the beginning the remain safe and untouched and people in cultures like India, West Asia, and Europe even existed. They also were helped successive dynasties govern the huge population wisely and effectively by the first Han emperor. (Cotterell 6)
Location: On page 6 it said, that China was united under a single empire from 221 BC to 1912 AD. The mountain ranges and deserts cut China off from India, West Asia, and Europe. It was hundreds of years before they even knew they existed. (Cotterell 6)
Religion: According to the text, Confucius noticed what was going in the kingdom's relationships. These bad relationships inspired him to create a moral outlook. His outlook was based off of respect, kindness, and loyalty. (Cotterell 12)
Architecture/technology: In the text it states, that some of the world's greatest inventions were made there. They made paper, printing, silk, porcelain, fireworks, kites, gunpowder, etc. They also were the ones who started the famous Silk Road that is still used today. (Cotterell 22)
Art: In the text it said, that printing and paper were the most important inventions or pieces of art ever made. The first time paper was ever made it was made up of silk then later started being made of bamboo, hemp, and mulberry bark. There were many other inventions like bamboo books,seal prints, and paper molds. (Cotterell 24)
Writing: The author wrote that the Shang Kings used oracle bones to talk to ancestors to see what the future held. They wrote this on ox bones or tortoiseshells and placed it in a fire. They judged the bone by how it cracked in the fire. (Cotterell 11)
Trade/commerce: According to the text and Chinese History, The Silk Road was the most important and beneficial trade. The road ran from northern China to all throughout Asia. Silk, spices, tea, porcelain, and lacquerware were the main things that were sold on the Silk Road by the Chinese. (Cotterell 58)
