Mesopotamia
Location: On page 6, it said that "The ancient Greeks called it Mesopotamia, meaning between the rivers."Ancient Mesopotamia was in the border of what is now modern - day Iraq. (Steele)
Architecture: On page 24 it said a ziggurat is made out of mud, straw, and brick. The author wrote that ziggurat looks similar to a stepped pyramid. (Steele)
Writing: On page 12 it said Sumerians had devised or created the world's first writing system. They had first used picture symbols to represent cattle, grain, or fish. Uruk then developed around 700 different symbols. ( Steele)
Art: On page 28 the text states " The Mesopotamia mastered many technologies and crafts at an early pint in their history.The text also states there are beakers there that come from the Elamite city of Susa and was made nearly 6,000 years ago.

Government: On page 14 it states The sumerians worshiped many gods and goddesses. It also states The crescent moon was said to be the boat of the mood god, Sin. ( Steele)
Religion: On page 14 the text states " The magnificent dragon decorated the Ishtar Gate in Babylon. It also says The Eternal Worshipers depict worshipers, who are wide eyed with their hands clasped in prayer.

Ancient egypt
Religion:On page 24 it states The Egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses, and sometimes it is difficult to work out who was who. Also on page 28 the text states Many of the gods are represented by animals.(Hart)
Location:On page 8 the text states the Egyptians lived on the banks of the Nile River or besides canals extending it. Also on page 8 it states The ancient Egyptians lived on a strip land.(Hart)
Architecture: On page number 20 the author states " The first pyramid was built as the burial place of King Djoser in c. 2650 BCE, by his gifted architecture Imhotep ( pp.34-35). The author also states "This Gallery, 154 ft (47 m) long and 28 ft (8.5 m) high> Grand Gallery

Government: On page 12 it states that " At great state occasions like royal jubilee celebrations or the giving of gifts to favored countries. The text also states The royal head is portrayed in glass. (Hart)
Writing: On page 34 the author States "Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture- writing with about 700 different signs."On page 34 the author also states " The talented scribe has lived for 4,500 years."

Art: On page 54 the text states From the earliest times, flax provided linen for clothes for everyone in ancient Egypt. It also states Papyrus and other reeds were the most common materials for sandals.(Hart)

Location: In the text on page 34 said "Most people in imperial chins lived in the countryside and worked in fields." It also states " Workers chatted to while away the long hours. (Cotterell
Art: On page 56, the text states "China has always been renowned for it's exquisite arts and crafts." The text also states " Bronze was made into stunning ritual vessels."(Cotterell)
Government: On page 10 the text states "The first Chinese dynasty to leave a historical record was the Shang." It also states " The ancient jades were probably used in Neolithic rituals concerned with death."(Cotterell)

Architecture/technology: On page 42, the text states " In most Chinese homes, three generations of the same family lived under one roof." It also states "Poorer Chinese people lived simply in their homes." (Cotterell)

Indus Valley
Location: IN the text it says that many people started to settle down around the Indus River and areas surrounding it. The Indus River Valley covers most of Pakistan and small portions of India and Afghanistan. The Indus River has lots of fertile soil around it, good for agriculture, therefore explaining part of the reason why people may have started settling around

Writing: This writing is one of the most confusing aspects of the ancient civilization. The reason for this is because their writing still cannot be deciphered. There are over 400 symbols and they have been put onto many things like seals and pots.

Architecture/Technology: In the text it states, people in Indus Valley created cities that are very well planned. The author also wrote, the cities show remnants of the sanitation system. That was REALLY advanced in their time of life.
