Government: On page 10, it said "City-state rulers were honored with various titles, such as en (lord) ,ensi(Governor), or lugal (king)." The Mesopotamia government had rulers(City-State Rulers to be exact" This could mean if they also called them lord it could follow their religion.(Steele)
Architecture:On page 24, it said that "the ziggurat, a massive terraced platform made of brick."This building represented a mountain stretching to the heavens.(Steele)
Religion:On page 14, it said "They believed that the stars traveling across the night sky were cows of Sin or Nanna, the horned moon god." This wasn't every towns religion it was one of the popular ones. (Steele)
Location: On page 6, it said "the ancient Greeks called it Mesopotamia, meaning between the rivers." Ancient Mesopotamia was in the border of what is now modern-day Iraq. (Steele)
Writing: On page 12 it said that "As the first cities arose, people began to require records of ownership, business deals, and government." The Before writing they used symbols representing objects. (Steele)
Art: On page 28, it said "They were molding clay into simple pots by the eighth millennium BCE" Clay and pottery was a very famous for their crafting and technologies.

Location: On page 6, its states "Ancient China remained untouched by outside influences because it was a world apart." It also states that vast deserts cut off China from cultures like India, West Asia, and Europe. Therefore the text told me that china's culture doesn't usually start from themselves. (Cotterell)
Art: On page 56, it states "China has always been renowned for its exquisite arts and crafts."Chinese arts and crafts were made from bronze,jade,silk, lacquer, and porcelain. Chinese rulers controlled over the supplies of raw materials and the factories the arts were made in. (Cotterell)
Religion: On page 16, it states that confucius was a special part in their beliefs and soon people started to follow him and his moral. The text states "It was based of kindness, respect, and the strength of the family." In return of his beliefs, subjects were obeyed their ruler well.
Writing: On page 11, it states that the oracle matters were used to consult ancestors about important matters by the Shang Kings. To make an oracle bone crack, they would take an ox or turtle shell. They would burn the shell or bone until it cracked, they believed the cracks were answers from their ancestors. (Cotterell)
Architecture/Technology: On page 22, the text says " Between 1088 and 1092, a civil servant named Su Song built the first mechanical clock. It told the time of day and tracked the heavenly bodies so that accurate horoscopes could be drawn." A mechanical clock was highly advanced for this time to be a machine. ( Cotterell 22)
Government: On page 16, it states that Zheng was the first emperor. The emperor seemed to have believed he was immortal from looking at the text. It states, "The first emperor seems to have thought he would become immortal." I think this could've been a form of theocracy, where their government is based of religion or believe(s).
Trade: On page 58, it states,"and permitted merchants to trade freely throughout vast empire." Also, the merchants would trade on "The Silk Road" that was a series of trading routes. I know this because it states "They controlled the entire length of the Silk Road".
