An IEP team is formed that will include parents, educators, administrators, other specialists and (optional) a child advocate.

Information collected. Observations made, student work samples collected, data on grades and tests collected
Parents advised on process and referred to resources such as The National Center For Learning Disabilities.
Identification
Which steps are taken?

Next steps are decided. If previous interventions and strategies have been impactful it may be decided to continue with these.
A potential evaluation may be ordered to determine if the child has learning disabilities. The team will determine which evaluations are appropriate and a timeline is set for the evaluation and next steps.

Children who do not meet the qualifications for special education will remain in the classroom setting. Teacher will implement own plan to supplement learning.
