In 449 Germanic tribes came on the island of England to attack the Celts and drive them out of England. Since then, Germanic tribes began to migrate from Continental Europe to England. Then the four main tribes namely Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Frisians founded seven kingdoms called the Anglo-Saxon Heptarchy which include: Mercia, Northumbria, Kent, Wessex, Sussex, Essex and East Anglia.
The kingdom speaks four dialects namely : West Saxon ( the royal language of Wessex), Kentish( the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Kent), Mercian ( the Anglian Kingdom of Mercia) and Northumbrian (the Anglian Kingdom of Northumbria)
