Differentiated Instruction
Readiness
students prior knowledge about topic or skill
in order to test readiness, teacher can have students fill out KWL chart to see what they know already
After pre testing students, teacher can make small groups based on results
This will help students learn better. They get more individualized attention
Prepared
Being prepared is very important for the students and teacher. In order to best help your students, you need to have everything prepared and organized
Materials
Seating arrangements and styles
Clear and easy directions
Interest
in order to keep student engagement, its important to incorporate their likes and interests
The teacher could do fun activities or games to get to know the students and each other. After this the teacher will learn about them.
Example: Movie ball. Movie ball is where the students pass the ball around the room to each other. When they get the ball they have to say their favorite movie. if they cant name one when the ball gets to them they're out
Example: This or That. The teacher can put students in small groups and they can take turns asking each other this or that questions. Such as pizza or tacos. This is another great get to know you activity
Another way to get to know your students is to listen to what they like. If the students see that you care to listen, they will feel comfortable and have open communication
