DEFINITION;
memory consists of electronic components that store instructions waiting to be executed by the processor
FUNCTION:
to store data and instructions to be executed by the processor and the results of processing the data(information)
Non-Volatile Memory

-contains a small startup program (BIOS) which is used to boot computer

-holds up data or program being used by processor
assembled on small circuit board called memory module which is plugged onto memory slots
