Definition
Headgear is an appliance typically used in children for correction of overbites by holding back growth of upper jaw, allowing for growth of lower jaw inoder for it to catch up.
Indications
Headgears are used to properly align the teeth.
Improve appearance of the child's smile

Expected outcome
Patient will report good alignment of the tooth

Impaired dentition
Nursing interventions
Provide Mouth care routine which include brushing of teeth on regular intervals. This will help in prevention of plaque.
Instruct patient to get regular dental check ups and follow ups. This will help in identifying problems early.
Evaluation
Patient reported to be having proper jaw alignment
