sports photos and nationals pins and "crash" batting helmet, and athlete of the year plaque. I cried when I didn't make the college team-it felt like I was being humored. like it wasn't an authentic try out. but mostly because I felt like I wasn't good enough and that shook my confidence immensely! All of the sudden I had a lot of free time that I'd never had before.I was away from home with no extra ciriculars. I'm not a big partier-hsp infj- it's a no thanks! At some point I picked up knitting again. and got serious about it.

It runs in the family. luckily, My mom was always very open about her own mental health and post-pardem depression, I wasn't ashamed. I've learned to recognized when I'm feeling especially depressed and I give myself more grace and love.
fifth year college got a stomach thing and a brain scan for the heck of it. cavernous malformation. I had frequent panic attacks going to the doctor and leaving my house at all after that. took a semester off. watched bones and knit. I still get a flutter of anxiety when I think of it but it's a matter of fact now.
