Treatment PACBD
P- supine, If In shock use trendelenburg
A- maintain airway- epi 1:1,000 0.3mg IM

B- monitor breathing, use o2 If needed
D- Diphenhydramine 50mg IM deltoid. Call EMS and document
Four stages of shock

Compensatory stage- Body adapts to overcome shock: Increases breaths, Increases bp, more blood to brain and less to tissue

Refractory stage- Organ failure and brain damage. Death within hours

Severe allergic reaction
Signs of recovery
No longer wheezing, swelling or Itching subsides. Check vitals and they are stable
Signs of deteriorating
Complete airway restriction, unstable vital signs and loss of consciousness
