Jeremy De Guzman (DAD): My dad always taught me about the value of life. He gave me an example about how if you were ever getting robbed or held at gunpoint, just give your stuff away. You can replace those things but you cannot replace your life.
-
Kcenia Estrella (MOM): My mom has always been the person to typically leave things till last minute. I’ve picked up on that over the years which isn’t a good thing, but I usually get the job done on whatever I have to do.
-
Fernando De Guzman (GRANDPA): My grandpa has always been a hardworking person. He played professional basketball in the Philippines and has worked hard to get where he is now and coming to the states. This has taught and influenced me to be a hardworking person
-
Christmas (HOLIDAY): I feel like tradition is looked over. Tradition is a good sacred thing to practice in your life and carry on to later generations, whether it may be a serious tradition or just a simple one. Every Christmas morning my family and I wake up and before opening presents we have a light breakfast. We eat these buttery rolls with gouda cheese and salami/sausage.
-
Melanie (TRAINER): There were days where I wouldn’t want to go to the gym and workout because I was either lazy or tired. But I would always still go to the gym. My trainer, Melanie, would always tell me how it’s good to give rest sometimes. There were times where I was really sore from all the workouts and there would be days where we would just stretch.
-
SHOES (ITEM): Shoes are another big part of my life. I like collecting shoes. I like buying shoes. There are a bunch of different color ways for certain models of shoes. I relate this to the idea that we are all different in our own ways, but equal.
-
Cynthia De Guzman (GRANDMA): My grandma is a very forgiving and calm person. I learned from her that if someone does anything to make you mad or to frustrate you; to take a deep breath and let it all out. Let it go; don't let it anger you to the point where you want to cause harm or argue.
-
Chick FIl A (PLACE): Whenever I go to Chick Fil A their customer service is always on point. They are very nice and patient people and always look out for you. One time they forgot to put sauce in my bag and they ran to my car to give it to me before I left. I learned to be very patient and nice and caring when it comes to things.
-
Music (MUSIC): Music is a big part of my life. I'm always listening to music. Music gets me through the day or through whatever I may be dealing with. Music is a big part of my life that either gets me relaxed or gets me pumped up to start the day.
-
Chris Gomez (COACH): Whether it be going to his PE class or to basketball practice, Coach Gomez would always joke around and tell me: “If you’re not 5 minutes early, you’re late.” At first it was just a joke but I kind of saw it as a good thing. It’s good to be early to events or important things in your life.
