What was its impact on women?
The enlightenment not only affected the scientific advances of the world, but it also helped criticize and question the old beliefs that were the norm, and many women were able to discuss and advance new ideals, discourse on religion, political and social equality, and sexuality, all which became prominent topics in the salons, debating societies, and in print.
Many women started fighting for their rights, what they believed in, and for education for all. Education became very important after the Enlightenment because of the women that fought for it. They also started to make women's rights more important than they had before.
