Levels of processing
Craig & Lockhart(1972)
Shallow processing requires repetition for encoding, adding new or fake information into an event just after occurrence can affect what is remembered
Most of the original information they had could’ve come from structural encoding or phonemic which is involved in shallow processing which is short term retention
With deep processing adding information that gives more meaning to an individual raises the likelihood to remember an event or pieces of information
To achieve deep processing elaborative rehearsal is required which is unlikely to be gained purely based off of one time incidents meaning again that their retention time is limited
