LIVER PATHOLOGY - Coggle Diagram
LIVER PATHOLOGY
Patterns
Massive/Sub-massive: Most hepatocytes destroyed>caused by HAV & HBV , drugs , toxins
Bridging: Linking btwn portal areas & central veins in Acute & chronic viral hepatitis,drug-induced & auto-immune
Confluent: affects region of lobule: either Centrilobular(common>caused by drugs , toxins & ischemia), mid-region/periportal
Interface: Death of single hepatocytes at the intersection btwn portal tract & parenchyma i.e periportal region
-
-
Cell death in the liver
Apoptosis: isolated hepatocytes>become rounded as shrunken pyknotic & eosinophilic Councilman bodies

-
-
Fibrosis
Initially>> pericellular,perivenular,portal/bridging

-
Inflammation
Site: Portal ,lobular Portal tract & parenchyma interface
