Definition

Hair growth over and above the normal for the age, sex and race of an individual, in contrast to hirsutism
Pathophysiology
There are different forms of the condition: a person can be born with hypertrichosis (congenital form)
A change in hair cycle where the hair growth phase increases beyond what is normal that the region of the body
Clinical Manifestation
Hair may be blonde in color, thin, and grows on cheeks and arms or legs
Hair growth is thicker, longer, and darker than the other forms and is the type that grows on your head
