As you start learning & understanding the cards start opening up for you
Levels of fluency
Fluency level
language becomes a part of your subconscious
even if you don't use it anymore for 10 years or longer you will not forget it
you have turned up more than 50% of the cards in the deck
this is a level where you are comfortable thinking in a language & comfortable communicating in a language
Mastery level
going to fluency to mastery is a much slower process
it requires potentially more efforts
Basic level
you have a base vocabulary & some grammar
you are able to have very simple conversations & communicate a little bit
when about 255 of the cards are turned up you reach basic level
Areas to focus
Colloquial sppech
talk the native language words
learn all words & expressions one by one
using verbs& expressions that locals use
Cultural traits
they require active listening
fully immerse yourself in the culture
work on adopting cultural traits
Pronunciation
find a native speaker, take a foreign language book, open a random page, read the first sentence
ask the native speaker to rate you on obvious accent, slight accent, no accent,
work on eliminating your accent by perfect sentence technique
ask the native speaker to read this sentence back to you, listen carefully & repeat
repeat the process until native speaker tells yo that he no longer hear an accent when you read the sentence
sound, act & express like a native
