Characteristics of Life - G9 KL Group 1
Homeostasis(Joel)
Homeostasis(Joel) the tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes.
Example: blood glucose regulation, baroreflex in blood pressure, calcium homeostasis, potassium homeostasis, and osmoregulation.

Metabolism
Metabolism(Heng) describes all the chemical processes that go on continuously inside your body to keep you alive and your organs functioning normally, such as breathing, repairing cells and digesting food.
Ex. The processes of making and breaking down glucose molecules.

Respond to Stimuli
Respond To stimuli (Earn) - Any process that results in a change in state or activity of a cell or an organism
Ex: You are hungry so you eat some food.

Heredity(Conrad)
Heredity, the sum of all biological processes by which particular characteristics are transmitted from parents to their offspring.
Ex: An example of heredity is the likelihood that you will have blue eyes, and other example of heredity is your possibility of having breast cancer based on family history.

(Abby) Growth and Development
In the context of childhood development, growth is defined as an irreversible constant increase in size, and development is defined as growth in psychomotor capacity. Both processes are highly dependent on genetic, nutritional, and environmental factors.
video for definition: Economic Growth
example: There are two skulls of a baby because they need to leave room for the brain to grow. When they grow up, the two skulls will grow into one.

Ex: : The big eyes make the sight of the owl very clearly during the night

EX: In asexual reproduction, one parents copies itself to form a genetically identical offspring.
