Abdomen: Lower portion of the organism that lies below the Thorax.
Thorax: Upper portion of the organism that lies below the head.
Ventral: Front side of an organism
Anterior: Front side of an organism. Can be same as Ventral, but not always.
Dorsal: Backside of an organism. As in a Dorsal Fin in a shark or dolphin.
Posterior: Backside of an organism. Can be the same as dorsal, but not always.
midline of an organism :
medial: spot located closest to the midline
Proximal: closer point to the connecting point of a limb.
Lateral: Spot located furthest from the midline.
Distal: Farthest point away from the connecting point of the limb.
Abduction: Moving limbs away from the midline
adduction: moving limbs towards the midline
Cranial: Referring to the head
superior: referring to the top/above
Superficial: lying on the surface
Deep: lying under the superficial
Caudal: referring to the tail
Inferior: Referring to the bottom/below
Palmer: referring to the hand
Planter: referring to the foot
flexion: pulling a limb towards you. :
extension: pulling a limb away from you.
Eversion: moving the foot outwards
Inversion: moving the foot inward

Supination: Moving the palm to face upwards
Pronation: turning the palm downwards
Planes of Anatomy
Transverse Plane: Dividing an Organism into Superior and Inferior.
Frontal Plane: Diving the organism into anterior and posterior.
Sagittal Plane: Splits down the midline of the organism.
