Linear Function
Y-intercept
The y-intercept is the position where the graph intercepts the straight line. In a linear equation it is represented by the b.
Slope
The slope of a linear function represents the rate of change of the graph and how fast it is increasing or decreasing. In an equation it is represented by the m.
You can find a linear function by using the vertical line test first to see if it a function or not then you need to see if the graph has a constant rate of change if ti does it is a linear function.
-
Vertical Line Test
The vertical line test works to see if a graph is a function or not, it works buy traveling a vertical line in a graph and if the touches more then one point at any time it is not a function.

Function
An expression used in math where an input can only have one output and only certain numbers can be included in the range and domain of a function
-
Composite Functions
It is a function where the results depend on more then one function first passing through one and then getting the result and inputting it into another.
-
Domain
The domain in the case of functions represents the x, all the numbers you can input into a function and that will give a out a single output (Range).
Range
A range in the case of a function represents y, and it shows all the results that a function can have.
