Causes
• Temporary episode of behavior alteration due to massive abnormal electrical discharges in one or more areas of the brain.

Etiology of Seizures
- Primary seizures are unprovoked and idiopathic, don't know exactly what causes them.
About 65% of seizure disorders are unprovoked epilepsy or "primary epilepsy".
- Secondary seizures are provoked, there is an identifiable reason for the seizure caused by: metabolic disorders (hypoglycemia, injection of toxins), medications, and rapid withdrawal from addictive drugs.
The biggest cause is a tumor in the CNS 35% of seizures are secondary and can be prevented.
