Giving young girls a right to be who they are :) - Coggle Diagram
Giving young girls a right to be who they are :)
Introduction
Talk about how unfair and wrong it is to force anyone to do something they don't want to
Introduce me
explain why people have rights to be who they want to be
stop jerks who think they can control young girls and make them some horrific image of a stereotypical girl :(
first paragraph
Explain about how unjust and despicable it is that people day to day are holding girls back from sport - also talk about the fact that people tell girls they have to love pink through not words but their clothes, their toys, their bedrooms, their everyday little things they use to live there life (they all seem to be PINK!!)
talk about how sexist, vile, horrifying and slimy this is to a few six year olds trying to be themselves
how cruel it is to take away a childs voice and identity, something that can never be replaced
abominable, shameful, scandalous
Second paragraph
talk about the differences between girls and boys outside of body images (hint: there are NONE)
encourage people to let their daughters play sport - their are many, many girls out their like Valarie Adams and Sophie Pascoe who show men up.
talk (yell) about how girls can defy all the unfair and sexist stereotypical images that people have thrown their way
third paragraph
personal connection
how I was told I couldn't play sport because of my gender... that never stopped me and then explain how much I play, how I never listened to anyone who told me I couldn't do something because I was a girl
How when I was younger, my life was filled with pink - when I was older I put my whole life into dispelling that horrible lie that I had to like pink
how my brothers teased me because I was a girl, and how they told me I would never be like them
how I fought everything people said about me to become somebody else - a whole new person just so I could change the way people thought about me
other notes
tone: angry

fourth paragraph
other side of the spectrum, how boys feel about being told they can;t cry, have to act strong, have to be ripped or girls won't like them (complete lie)
how boys can take drugs, go into depression because of these unfathomable lies that are destroying boys/men
how we need to encourage both genders to be who THEY want to be not who their PARENTS want them to be
conclusion: summary of the paragraphs
