Chapter I - Introduction
In general, Linguistics is the study of Language.It includes its use, nature, variation and structure of language. In other words, it refers to the study of language in all its basic elements such as: Pragmatics, Semantics, Syntax, Phonology, and Morphology.

Human Being & Computer Analogy
A computer is compared to the human brain because the complexity of work each has. In a computer the intangible programs are the software, while in the human brain knowledge of a language or languages make that function. On the other hand, in a computer the tangible parts or hardware make possible a product or output, while in humans those tangible parts become what is known as the speech.
