Fluctuating sensorineural hearing loss
Sweating
Pain due to Pressure in the inner ear
Nursing interventions and drug therapy
If patient complains of pain, give analgesia
As a nurse ensure patient understands that the condition is not life threatening
Treat acute vertigo in a bed rest position and administration of sedatives.
Drugs like Diazepam and fentanyl are used to treat vertigo which has impact on Méniéré's disease.
The nurse must ensure confidentiality of the patient before beginning treatment

During acute attack, keep patient in a quiet room and advise patient to avoid head movements.
Patient must be safe, as Balance may be affected, keep notice of risk of falling and raise bed rails .

This causes patient to experience the feeling of being pulled to the ground
EG a patient who used an elevator would feel like they are in it even after hoursr
These attacks may be preceded by a sense of fullness in the ear which increases muffled hearing

Cause of Méniéré's disease
Excessive accumulation of endolymph in the membrane of labyrinth.
The clinical course of Méniéré's disease is extremely variable.
