Stop motion
Part 4
a) Resize the photos using Photoshop to best suit uploading the final animation to the Internet. 1920px x 1080px, 72dpi, RGB.
Explain the procedure of how to resize your image to the correct size
Make and then document any adjustments to the images i.e. crop, straighten, adjust colour mode, adjustment layers, change the resolution etc.
-
Use Photoshop to create your final stop-motion animation using the timeline feature
Export final animation as an .mp4 file
Get feedback from three (3) people about your animation
Make any adjustments and export again (if needed)
-
-
Part 2
Draw your proposed animation on individual pages (frame by frame) to make your flipbook.
The pages will be 5 x 3 inch (12.7 x 7.6 cm) This is your storyboard for your animation idea, planning the motion of the objects in each frame
Experiment with what the photographs will look like, thinking of the framing, lighting and composition to achieve your desired look.
-
Get feedback from three (3) people about your flipbook storyline in preparation for your photo shoot
Plan your photo shoot: when, where, what equipment and what props
Pre-empt any possible problems and find solutions for them
Part 3
Using the background that you selected, resize the image using Photoshop to proportionally fit an A3 page, 300dpi, CMYK.
Using your background and props, take the photos in a studio environment
-
Review your photos using Adobe Bridge, to make sure that they meet the brief – Rename using appropriate naming conventions, and apply metadata (include your name, the image name and some keywords to describe the image) to your final images
aim
-
Part 1
Create a timeline for the project, include what needs to be achieved each week
Gather samples of existing flipbooks and stop-motion animation to draw inspiration from. Find 4 pieces of each using multiple sources.
-
Brainstorm ideas/concepts for your stop-motion animation. Explain why you selected that style of creative thinking brainstorming
Write a paragraph proposal for three (3) different ideas for your
stop-motion. Each proposal will include: what type of background you want to use, what the object will be and how the object will be animated. Ask the teacher if the animation is achievable.
Post three idea proposals onto a discussion board and get feedback from Classon which idea should be used. Then select final idea.
