Problem Solving - Problem 5
Define the problem
Climate change
Human activity is the main cause of climate change.
People burn fossil fuels and convert land from forests to agriculture.
The greenhouse effect makes the earth warmer, just as a greenhouse is warmer than its surroundings.
Carbon dioxide is the main cause of human-induced climate change.
Pick a Solution
Keep fossil fuels in the ground.
Try to reduce the use sources that contribute to climate change; fuel
Brainstorm Solutions
Reduce sources that contribute to climate change
Keep fossil fuels in the ground.
Invest in renewable energy.
Fossil fuels include coal, oil and gas – and the more that are extracted and burned, the worse climate change will get.
Changing our main energy sources to clean and renewable energy is the best way to stop using fossil fuels. These include technologies like solar, wind, wave, tidal and geothermal power.
Review the Result
Climate change can be gradually recovering
By reducing car use, it will not only help stop climate change, it will reduce air pollution too.
Reduced transport in traffic can reduce the production of carbon monoxide and dioxide.
As the use of fuel is reduced, climate change will recover
As a result the use of fuel can be reduced
Implement the Solution
Switch to sustainable transport.
Petrol and diesel vehicles, planes and ships use fossil fuels.
Reducing car use, switching to electric vehicles and minimising plane travel
Car Pooling
Use transport to reduce the use of many cars in traffic
