H2O
Hydrogen bonding --> Bonding between the hydrogen molecule of one atom with another hydrogen molecule of another atom as a result of polarity between the negative charge of oxygen and the positive charge of hydrogen.
Cohesion --> As a result of these two different poles, an H2O molecule has a high capability of connecting with another H2O molecule. Thus, cohesion, meaning the ability to connect to a molecule the same as itself.
-
Without cohesion there would be no surface tension, without surface tension, insects wouldn't be able to lend on water. This would make them immediately die when trying to drink a liquid substance

Without hydrogen bonding, our protein cell structure would be completely damaged. The protein is made of helixes connected by hydrogen bonds. Without these bonds, muscles, for example, wouldn't even exist in our bodies. Hence, we would be dead without hydrogen bonding.
Dipolarity of Water --> The connection that the H2O molecule can have with other molecules as a result of the two opposite polars, one negative (oxygen), and one positive (hydrogen).
Adhesion - As a result of the H2O molecule being able to easily stick to other molecules, due to its polarity, water is adhesive. Water is easily able to stick to surfaces. The H2O molecule being easily connected with any other time of negatively/positively charged molecule makes it able to connect to a molecule other than itself.
-
Even though, as already seen in class, plants use adhesion to transport water inside the tinny vessels, the same thing happens for animals. The arteries and blood vessels of animals are only capable of transporting blood as a result of the H2O particle being adhesive to the vessel walls. Only the heart can't do all the job.
