Francis Bacon
Accomplishment
He served as lord chanceller of England, he was knighted in 1603 and created the 1st viscount ST. alban in 1621, his work laid the foundation for the scientific revolution, he played a key role in the creation of English colonies in North America, he is credited with starting a new intellectural era.

He is the first person to define the scientific method. The scientific process typically starts with an observation that leads to a question.

Accomplishment
He is credited as the supporter of modern scientific method, he wrote “cars can be made so that without animals they will move with unbelievable rapidity,” and “flying machines can be constructed so that a man sits in the midst of the machine revolving some engines by which artificial wings are made to beat the air like a flying bird.”

He was the first European to describe in detail the process of making gunpowder, and he proposed flying machines and motorized ships and carriages.

Galileo telescope
Galileo was the first to point a telescope skyward. He was able to make out mountains and craters on the moon, as well as a ribbon of diffuse light arching across the sky.
