Discovery
He invented a hydrostatic balance, he discovered the 4 largest moons of Jupiter, stated the basic principle of relativity, he invented the improved military compass.
Galileo telescope
He is the first person to define the scientific method. The scientific process typically starts with an observation that leads to a question.
Galileo was the first to point a telescope skyward. He was able to make out mountains and craters on the moon, as well as a ribbon of diffuse light arching across the sky.
He was the first European to describe in detail the process of making gunpowder, and he proposed flying machines and motorized ships and carriages.
