Technical school- students are from the Chemistry and Mechanic course
Students have 4 years of High School and around one year of internship
Level 4 students (B1)
1º ano EM
Two periods on Thursdays mornings. Being online, they have one period and 20 minutes of synchronous classes and are given a homework every week.

Classes
Class 1: get to know the students
Ask students to introduce themselves by putting information on the slide with their name
Information is related to social media: 1) their instagram bio 2) a tweet that describes them 3) their favourite video/song on youtube 4) the TikTok or Reels that always makes them happy 5) their profile picture from social media websites
Homework
Answer questions about themselves
Class 2:
Watch TikToks and reflect about the tense that is being used to talk about the future (group)
Grammar explanation???
jamboard to add the sentences they hear and think are in the future (individual?)
Homework- divide the sentences said in categories of the simple future (will, going to...) + something else because they won't have classes for two weeks
Intro to the project
Class 3: Grammar
Grammar explanation- use sentences from TikTok to explain
Homework- grammar practice but more into them creating! maybe give them vocabulary that is common to when we talk about the future and they have to match to the image and then create sentences about that
videos from the past about the future as grammar practice (like mid century modern or 50's visions on the future)
Grammar exercise- use sentences from TikToks. They have to say which ones were predictions that were correct and change the ones that didn't end up happening so that they are true
Class 4: Reading sequence
Homework- first version of a text
pre-reading- questions wheelofnames have you ever received a letter? have you ever written a letter? at school, did you write...? do you think letters are still relevant now? why it is not that common to write letters now? who would you like to send a letter to? would you send a letter to yourself?
reading: 1) read the title and first page and answer the questions about it (what genre it is, where is it?)
2) read the rest of the article and answer questions about it
3) watch the video and say common things they noticed were in the kids letters
post-reading: writing a letter to yourself
Class 5:
Start group activity about the genre- create script
Remember what started our project- the tiktoks
Reflect on the TikTok genre
Homework- finish script
Finish reading and post-reading
Class 6: production of the TikToks (stitch the video)
