Salpingitis refers to infection that causes the inflammation of the fallopian tubes.
Pathogens moves through cervix, endometrium and eventually in the fallopian tubes, causing salpingitis.
Hormonal changes due to menstruation, intrauterine devices and endometrial biopsy predispose salpingitis.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases such as Gonorrhea and chlamydia.
Salpingitis is the most common cause of female infertility
Abnormal vaginal discharge with unpleasant odour.
Painful menstruation
Fever
Frequent urination
Nausea and vomiting
Pain in the abdomen
Reduction of pains in 2 hours
Discomfort related to inflammation of the fallopian tubes secondary to Salpingitis
Place patient in a semi-fowlers position, to facilitate drainage of infection.
This intervention will help relieve pain and prevent abscess formation.
Administer analgesics as prescribed, To relieve pains.
