      - Conjunctions and connectors like however, on the contrary or as a result, help students get used to taking longer turns.

      - Another great way to keep the conversation going is by agreeing/disagreeing with what another student has said.

      - Just like the above skill, it’s very important for students to be able to not only express their opinions, but also ask others for their own.

      - One of the things that can scare any ESL student is not knowing what to say.

      - Another important skill is being able to avoid being interrupted.
