Safety

Get ready for possible evacuation and, if required, follow instructions for evacuating areas in question.
Take shelter in a hard-wall building. If you are in a vehicle, get to shelter (building, residence, etc.) as quickly as possible
-
Only take iodine on the Prefect’s instructions and provided there are no medical contraindications to your doing so. If you haven’t got any tablets at home at the time of the accident, emergency distribution is organised in community centres determined by the Prefect. Pregnant women and children under 18 year of age are mainly concerned.
-
Don’t try to go and get your children. They will be taken care of by teaching staff and emergency services in school and extracurricular activity settings.
Avoid using the phone so as to leave telephone networks available for use by the emergency services.
-
If it rains, put anything that may have got wet (umbrella, shoes, coat, mackintosh, etc.) outside.
