Invest in Yourself Continually
The second key to continuous learning is for you to listen to audio programs in your car as you drive from place to place.
The third key to continuous learning is for you to take every course and seminar that you can find.
The first is for you to read at least one hour each day, and more when you can, in your chosen field.
Commit to Excellence
Identify the one skill that if you did it extremely well, would have the most positive impact on your career.
Develop standards of performance, measurements for your key result areas.
Make a list of every task you perform, every key result you are expected to get for your company.
Concentrate on the Customer
Identify your most important customers, both inside and outside your business.(your boss, colleagues, coworkers, and staff members are all customers)
Make a plan to increase the quality and quantity of your service to them
Customer satisfaction has four levels
The next level of satisfaction is where you exceed your customers' expectations.
The next higher level of customer satisfaction is when you delight your customers.
The first level of customer satisfaction is simply meeting customer expectations.
The highest level of all is the fourth, where you amaze your customers.
Identify your most important customers outside your firm
Determine what you could do to improve these relationships
Focus on the Bottom Line
Squeeze out every extra penny of expense
Examine every single cost to see if it cannot be reduced
You should seek ways to reorganize, restructure, and reengineer your work so that you can do your job faster and at a lower cost than before
Look at every activity to see if it cannot be simplified, downsized, or even eliminated
Study your business closely and determine how you could increase sales or cash flow in some way
Develop Positive Personal Power
The second form of power is called "personality power", arises when you are liked and respected by others when you are popular and personable.
The third kind of power is "position power", comes with a job title and includes the authority to hire and fire people and to reward or punish particular behaviors.
The first is called "expert power", arises when you become excellent at getting a result that is important to your company.
Get the Job Done Fast
Organize your list by priority by putting an A, B, or C next to each task. An A task is very important, a B task is of medium importance, and a C task is not really important at all.
Then organize your "A" tasks by priority by writing A-l, A-2, A-3, and so on next to each one.
Begin each day by making a list of everything you have to do that day.
