what is original sin?

believed to be the sole reason why there is bad in the world, which was created by God who is almighty, and why we need to be saved by God.
since it is something you are born with, it is not something that one does. It is the condition of human beings, not the action itself. This is why newborns are born with original sin. Not because they did anything wrong, but because they are tainted with it.
explanation for bad things such as war, genocide, cruelty, abuse, etc.
how did it come to be?
it is part of the "Doctrine of the Fall", which is when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and fell from perfection. This is how they brought evil into a perfect world created by a perfect God.
the story of fall and redemption is a story of two Adams. Christ is sometimes referred to as the "Second Adam"
God created a perfect world and Adam, whose only task was to tend the Garden of Eden and was forbidden from eating fruit of the trees of good and evil & live and death. Eve was then created, as Adam's wife, and was tricked by the serpent into eating the fruit of this tree as well as offering Adam the fruit as well. Because of Adam and Eve's betrayal, God banned them to the harsh world outside which was now tainted with death and evil because of them

a modern interpretation of the tale explains that Adam failed to fulfill his potential and sought to do it alone, without God. Jesus, known as the "Second Adam", then re-established the connection with God.
