THE ABILITY TO SELF-MOTIVATE AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
4 essential elements to building self-motivation
Confident and believe in your own ability
• Think about your achievements and successes in life
• Identify your own strengths as the foundation to continue to build new milestones of success
• Find out other people's recognition of your strengths and abilities
• Set realistic, achievable goals, do your best and celebrate success
• Find a mentor who can guide you to build or improve the skills, abilities, and qualities you need to succeed.
Positive thinking
• When you see a negative thought, immediately challenge it, and replace it with a positive thought
• Build a vivid picture of successful outcomes as you achieve your goals. For example, how would you feel, how would you celebrate....
• Observe and recognize your own thoughts. Write these thoughts down to see what you're thinking, positive or negative.
• Use a few sentences to remind and confirm your ability to succeed, for example I can do this - I can do it.
• Practice positive thinking every day, until you automatically and naturally think positively about yourself and the world.
